Singer-pianist-songwriter Paula Maya hails from Rio de Janeiro , which also happens to be the title of her new album , a collection of original pieces (plus one Jobim favorite) in the spirit of MPB, música popular brasileira. For years, she has called Austin,Texas home. Saxophonist-composer Livio Almeida grew up in Brasília, where he recorded his new project, Brasília Sessions , a program of originals and Brazilian jazz classics.
