Are You Havin' Any Fun? - 1939, Reimagined

Listen to this week's show This week on Caminhos do Jazz, we enter Rocky and Bulwinkle's Wayback Machine and imagine that we are in 1939 on the brink of WWII, when "the world is falling apart." We begin with our seed, a lovely rendition of "Are You Havin' Any Fun" from Danish jazz singer Marie Mørck 's brand new release, My One and Only Love (Zack's Music, 2025). "Are You Havin' Any Fun" was a big hit for Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra in 1939, but it might have been sung by the character Edward Weyse in PBS' Seaside Hotel , the hugely popular Danish TV show ( Badenhotellet ), set in Denmark during the WWII period,1928-1947.
