Marking the solstice this week on Caminhos do Jazz, beginning with Brazilian seven-string guitarist Yamandú Costa's lovely "Caminho da Luz" (The Way of the Sun) from his album Mafuá (Acous, 2011), following that up with more from Camera Obscura, the gorgeous new release by Brazilian-born multi-reedist and composer Felipe Salles (Tapestry, 2025). Our first set this week includes composer-singer-pianist Delia Fischer 's intriguing "Your Voice in My Head" (from Beyond Bossa , Origin, 2024), with English lyrics by Allen Morrison. The piece is a reflection on the emotional toll of artificial intelligence and social media.
