Caraivana this week on Caminhos do Jazz. Here's how they describe themselves..."Caraivana: Coming from different cities in Brazil, the members of the group met one another in 2004 in Caraíva-Bahia, became friends, and--in a simple and unpretentious way--the band was formed." The musicians are Fábio Luna (flute, cavaco, voice), Alex Souza (voice, 6-string guitar), Douglas Lora (7-string guitar), Alexandre Lora (pandeiro) and Juninho Billy Joe (percussion). The ensemble vibe is easygoing and their repertoire wide-ranging, with originals and popular favorites--samba, forró, choro and Brazilian popular music (MPB)... Read more here.
