This week on Caminhos do Jazz, we wish--belatedly--feliz aniversário to Ivan Lins, the celebrated Brazilian songwriter and singer-pianist who turned 80 on June 16, 2025, and to trombonist-arranger Ryan Keberle, who shares the same birthday. Keberle and his Collectiv do Brasil ensemble have just released an album in tribute to Lins, entitled Choro das Aguas (Alternate Side, 2025), which features pianist-arranger Felipe Silveira, bassist Felipe Brisola and drummer Paulinho Vicente. You'll hear selections from Choro das Aguas, and several of Lins' original versions...

And for a teaser... Our first set this week includes composer-singer-pianist Delia Fischer 's intriguing "Your Voice in My Head" (from Beyond Bossa , Origin, 2024), with English lyrics by Allen Morrison. The piece is a reflection on the emotional toll of artificial intelligence and social media.
