With year's end approaching, days have grown short in Texas. We look to Hermeto Pascoal's Calendário do Som, focusing on October as it turns into November, with selections performed by Fabiano Araújo and friends, Itiberê Zwarg's Orquestra Familia, Mano a Mano Trio, and Luca Rampinini. Diverse tracks from Bruno Migotto, Alex Brown, Tonilson Beat DJ, Casa7, Milton Nascimento and Jorge Helder round out the program (full list is below). Tora Augestad and Music for A While open the set with their sublime rendition of Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson's classic "September Song."  For a taste, check this YouTube...

Our first set this week includes composer-singer-pianist Delia Fischer 's intriguing "Your Voice in My Head" (from Beyond Bossa , Origin, 2024), with English lyrics by Allen Morrison. The piece is a reflection on the emotional toll of artificial intelligence and social media.
