Greek singer Savina Yannatou releases Watersong on ECM in April 2025. In anticipation and in keeping with Caminhos do Jazz's theme of "world jazz and Brazilian mixtures," we begin our celebration in a roundabout way, by jumping back to 2003 for, Asate (Libra Records), a beautiful recording Yannatou made with Cypriot composer and guitarist Andreas Georgiou, which features the Brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira. Our first set this week includes composer-singer-pianist Delia Fischer 's intriguing "Your Voice in My Head" (from Beyond Bossa , Origin, 2024), with English lyrics by Allen Morrison. The piece is a reflection on the emotional toll of artificial intelligence and social media.
